The Auditorium Building at 430 S Michigan Avenue was Dankmar Adler and Louis Sullivan’s 1889 tour de force — a 4,200-seat theater wrapped in a hotel and office block, engineered with a floating raft foundation to carry its enormous masonry load on Chicago’s soft clay. It now houses Roosevelt University and still hosts performances.

In the public record it is Cook County parcel 17-15-109-013-0000, facing Grant Park in a downtown district. See the full record for its current civic details.
